The Banking Division of the NFO helps to mediate and resolve disputes between consumers and banks and other financial institutions. Its jurisdiction covers those banks which are members of The Banking Association South Africa and it offers free and accessible Ombudsman services to bank customers who have exhausted their bank’s usual complaint processes and channels, and still feel aggrieved.
The Banking Division investigates and seeks to find fair, equitable and impartial outcomes in instances where bank customers believe that they have suffered financial loss or emotional harm through actions or inactions on the part of their bank that they believe were prejudicial to their rights or interests, or were illegal.
