Consumer Education

It is hard to believe that we have already come to the end of 2014! Our team was kept very busy in all corners concerning consumer education, with most of our time spent outside the office being involved in various education initiatives.

This year was a year of delivery in the Double Impact (DI) training sphere. After introducing this in-depth, tailor made credit and financial training in August last year, we have really taken great strides in the growing DI. In the past quarter we conducted 16 training sessions for 290 delegates at 5 different organisations.

At the same time, we conducted 16 consumer awareness workshops, which were held across Gauteng and in Kwa Zulu Natal.

A large portion of our time in the remaining few weeks of 2014 will now be spent engaging member organisations and planning for consumer education in the New Year, as traditionally our consumer education programmes taper off at this time due to the anticipated festive shut down, and many of our members start peaking in trading during this time.

Our media activities produced an Advertise Value Equivalent of R6.8 million in the past quarter. Our time will be spent running spend wise campaigns in the run-up to the festive season.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our partnering stakeholders for assisting us to deliver quality consumer education through the various initiatives we have been involved in throughout the year. May we continue to work well and make an even greater impact in 2015!

I wish you well over the festive season and hope you enjoy the time with family and friends. For those who will be travelling, keep safe and see you in the New Year!
